Firefox crashed opening msdn.microsoft/hi-in

September 16, 2008 by alright

It’s happening multiple times. Why FF is crashing when I try to login to http://msdn.microsoft.com/hi-in/default.aspx. Is this because of the “hi-in” i.e Hindi langauge used in the site scaring fire the fox. Sent the failure error to FF.

I will try to look at it the reason later in free time.

Open Code: WTL inside Google Browser Chrome

September 14, 2008 by alright

I am interested to dig in the Chrome source code and would be interested to build it.
Getting Started” is the ground zero place for this.

Hanselman takes the first bite of the code here.
Look at his other Chrome and IE8 blog too.

By the way something cool to try on in Chrome:
“about:network”, “about:dns”, “about:memory”, “about:stats

I have a rumor to spread. Yahoo is coming with its own browser. And amazon with its solid web platform are also coming with its own browser and providing free cloud space to all. Hehe!!

Swimming Lesson #week2

September 14, 2008 by alright

Note: I am a first time swimmer and the coach who is just there to save in emergency, may not be the proper guide to train. However I am just enjoying my progress with his lessons. I may discover the right way to swim by book/video/proper coach till then I will keep posting the times.

Well I maintained a frequency of 4 days in first week. This is by far a good start. I did practice most of the first two steps. It was a practice of holding breath, floating long, and kicking slowly without bending knees.
Another lesson that I got is here
Step#4: With step#3 kick atmost 10 times and then use hands to pull water back (just like a paddle in a raft)
Give a jerk and move forward. Kick atmost 10 times. Once in forward motion use hands as paddle to pull water back. This will move you faster than just kick.

I have been trying to reach a goal (other side of the pool) using step#4. I am almost done it but will not update this until I am done.
Meanwhile I am supposed to travel out of city next to next week and will miss the swimming.

Swimming lesson day-1

September 6, 2008 by alright

It was a good start of the weekend. A long desire to swim started with a good kick. It must be several attempt/pursuasion/need all kind of force to do this and for many years. First started with the unexpectedly easy enrollment with the swimming center. Started with a proper training with the walking coach (coach was walking above water. kidding).
Step#1: Breathing practice
Take deep breathe from the mouth and then breathe out from the nose inside the water. Practice it for few sets till you are capable of doing it 15-20 times in sequence.
Step#2: Basic floating practice
Take deep breathe from nose this time. Deep your head down in water and try to loosen your body so that it floats. Practice as much to float.
Step#3: Basic float and kick.
While following the step-2, kick your leg without bending knee. Well “without bending knee” was stressed. It worked. You will start moving forward. Practice and practice that’s what was the lesson.

This is going to continue the next day too. I enjoyed the learning and seeing myself covering a good length with swim made be to roar. I called the coach and thanked him, but he sounded like, “its ok, I know if I put a wood in the water it will float and it will move if there is current or if I guide so”. Haha.

Alright, still got to complete the remaining part of the book “Mythical man month”. I will keep updating the learning steps.

Home Loan primer

September 4, 2008 by alright

This site is a good place to know about the Home Loan and EMI terms & condition often talked by bank. I am fallen to look after the information as it looks stupid to talk to bank without knowing this basic terms. And when I know that, I feel just more smarter than the bank personal. Yep!!
http://loans.moneypore.com/primers/PTerm_Clusters.asp

This is just to refer this when I need to look for any loan info and not looking at bookmarks as its not that searchable with general terms.
